I've been thinking of making a trip to Cambodia since last year. haa..but had put it aside for the time being. Been chatting with a friend and he shared with me his experience in Cambodia doing some community service. It kind of rekindled my interest to travel to Cambodia.

A look at my schedule and commitments, only in December can I realise the trip. Probably mid-Dec IF we are going for the Games. If not, early Dec probably. Was quite happy when I checked out Lonely Planets to see that the best period of travel to Cambodia is during dec and jan! (Yeah! Just nice!) I'll probably look at going to Siem Reap first..to check out one of the world's 7 wonders and to further experience the culture.

"For after two decades of war and isolation, only now is Cambodia truly starting to recover from the Khmer Rouge's genocidal 1975-79 rule. A visit to sites commemorating their atrocities will paralyse your soul and enlighten your mind...you'll never look at the world the same again."
Taken from Lonely Planet

I remembered when I was in Pri 2, my dad actually spent a year with the UN mission in Cambodia. He will return once in awhile, with stories and photographs of his experience there. I think subconciously, it aroused my interest towards Cambodia.

Just checked out the tix from jetstarasia and it's ard $158, excluding taxes for a 2-way trip. haa. But I wont be able to confirm the trip until late Sep, based on my experience. *keeping my fingers crossed*
