Realised dat there are few pieces of interesting news on this week's papers. =) And I started cutting out news clippings which I feel are interesting and am able to share them with the kids before the start of the lessons.

Some of them includes:-

- In view of the coming heritage fest 2007 ( 18 July -27 July), the organizers have launched a new portal entitled "My Story". The portal somewhat resembles wikipedia where it allows visitors to upload THEIR PERSONAL story and experience. These stories would have to be of heritage value and the selected top entries will be awarded prizes. Other den "written" entries, the site oso encourage ppl to upload videos or podcasts. Amongst the current entries, there are a few which I have found relating to stuffs which are also close to my heart. Eg:"eraser game", "orchard rd xmas light up"

- Solar Energy Takes On A New Shine In Singapore
Singapore has begun to encourage the development of solar energy industry. This will probably be of interest to students who might see it as one of a prospective career pathway. Besides, it will be beneficial for them to have an understanding of uses of solar energy.

- Dutch keep heads above water with floating houses

Netherlands have started building amphibian houses 7 years ago. These buildings are designed for flooded land and will help the country to cope with rising sea level.

Eh it's like living "on waters". haha..imagine travelling from one end to the other by boat!

Cant find any nice photos online to show the structure thou.

Alright, actually there're more news updates but haha..i shall not dwell so much on all these news. Just some extracts of stuffs which I found interesting.
