Mid Autumn Festival was a simple one.

School for lessons + Training. haha my team mates actually lit up lanterns and candles @ sdba. haa like what kids these days do.

We finished second to RP. So we had to come early the next morning for repercharge. I felt a lil upset with the results, seriously. And I dun exactly noe how to remedy the situation den. I think I felt like a sore loser. But I cldnt help feeling sore. For a moment, I was thinking to myself whether it was time for me to really tk a break.

During our semis and races which follow-up, we decide to change our seating to 2front +2back. Think it helped us to spread out our weight better den the staggered one. Cos our front felt too light.

In the end, we only managed to get into the minor finals. But at least we did ourselves justice by clocking our best timing. Thou still far from the rest of the NTUC boats.

The grand finals saw 3 of our boats taking the lanes. And we managed to come in 1st, 2nd and 4th =) Good job ladies!

The race ended off with a steamboat dinner @ Xiangci's place. ( SOme of them were playing Wii Nintendo..the new game in town!)

Another fruitful week has passed. hmm..im trying to recall wat happened during the week so here goes. =)

Monday was the day when we went to recee for our Taipei+ Taichung trip =) And by Wednesday, we were ready to book our tix and stuffs. ( The travel agency hasnt got back to us.) Our Taipei stuffs are settled by the travel agency. But the Taichung Hotel was booked online.

And Wednesday was the first time I had some Italian High Class dinner. haha hmm it's actually @ Charcoal, a restaurant totally ran by SHATEC students.(Wee's cousin is learning cookery @ SHATEC. So we went down to support this dinner event) So it wasnt really the High Class experience. We had 4 courses ( trying to recall..heh) but the best of cos the main which is the seafood squid inked pasta. I was still wondering why was the pasta dark green and telling Wee dat we can go to the supermarket to recee for dark green pasta haa but in fact, it's juz pasta dat has been soaked in squid ink! We were told dat it's actually a tedious process cos need to tk away the smell of the squid oso.





The service crew were oso SHATEC students so we cld actually see some of them quite nervous when serving us. So as much as possible, we try to smile and reassure them =) Their supervisor is actually quite strict. He'll juz scold them if he found them not doing a good job.

Thursday, instead of my usual GESL, I went for for training instead. Quite relieved dat my GESL has finally got going, thou it didnt end up with the BIG AMBITIOUS plans we had.

Friday was my first visit to DEMPSEY rd. Had a dinner over there, part of the celebration for Joesie's bday. We were @ Dempsey Hut, this alfresco dining place. Their food was nice =) Have been hearing things bout this new hip place but haf nv been there till last Fri. And the rest were talking bout this PS CAFE. haha..dun exactly noe what's the hype about, so I shld probably find a day to visit the place. =)

Weekend was totally burnt @ Chinese Gdn. (Oh on Saturday, I felt a lil upset, so Wee and I went to Sakae for dinner heh. I tink Im finding too much comfort from food liao )

Amidst "swimming" in the sea of assignments, my boy and I are gonna start planning for a year end trip to Taipei and Taichung. Not too worried bout getting around Taipei cos many ppl haf been to Taipei before. I guess getting ard Taichung might need a bit more research.

Why Taichung..cos of the many reviews of beautiful scenery. Now the problem will be getting an accomodation with reasonable budget and good location.

Before this yr's sava, i looked @ the havianas dat i've been wearing ..and thot to myself..It's been one year =) Times flies ..doesnt it.

This year's SAVA..i dunno what to feel but glad dat till now, we're still keeping together as a team and rowing. 500m, we came in second, quite a close race. 200m, it's anybody's race..we came in 4th.

I tink I over-carboloaded with bread..

DB is a team sport. We have to feel the boat together. The word is "Together"

I left the race site, feeling a sense of loss.. it din feel good @ the last set. But oh well..cant look back. Look forward.

I know Im supposed to be busy with my assignments. But was really relieved after days of rushing the ICT assignment and studying for my content upgrading test (ok..i tink all dat I tried to cramp into my tiny brain din really came back to me during the actual test =( )

A few of us gers went over to one of the halls to engage in a meaningful game of "dry swimming". The tiles were really small..and we realised dat we lack in some equipments- like a table, chips, and haa..dice! so basically we had nothing except the tiles. haha..

We all came to realise dat it was time to put what we have been learning for weeks into good use. Game modification!

In place of a table, we used a stool and stacked it with our really thick textbooks.



In place of the chips, we were "trading" with mentos (we shared a total of 2 big packets of the mentos) heh..For the dice, we drew 18 squares, each representing a number. Haaa so the one who's supposed to start the game will close her eyes and use a pen to point to the number!..haha

We had a fun game! Destressing! heh. And cos my brain was q drained..dat I played in a v un-professional manner. So they were teasing that I have to go for content upgrading in "dry swimming" too! grr..Oh and from one of my classmates, I realised that there's actually a Mahjong Association in SG! Haa..so what do they do? I wonder... =)

I was waiting for my bus @ the bus stop outside AMK MRT Stn when I spotted this relatively new "thing"! It's a digital board which gives passengers an indication of the frequency of their buses. I was waiting for bus 165. Thou the board indicated that the bus had arrived but in actual fact, my bus was not here yet. As a passenger, I think I can still mk do with the little inaccuracy cos the traffic during the evening peak hour is really terrible, so it's understandable that the frequency is a lil disrupted.

But anyhow, I tink it's a good initiative to have the board in place, especially @ busy bus stops. =)

I just signed up for wireless @ SG with 2 of the operators- Singnet and QMax. eh the wireless service is actually pretty fast, similar speed as the one which I have @ home. The only issue i'll encounter would probably be ..I wont noe which operator is operating @ the hotspot which I am in. Like a while ago when I tried to login to my singnet account in Macs and I realised dat they are actually operated by QMax. haha..so maybe it'll be useful to keep a list of the operators and where they're operating @.

Guez with this service, Im able to gain internet access whenever im in the hotspot. And do my work outside my home and campus! yeah.

Just had my Growth & Development discussion with my grpmates..I enjoyed the session haha thou itz like all 4 of us are like blur blur...haha. The kids AJ got as our subjects were pretty open as well. So it made our work simpler. =)

Ratatouille!



The popcorn set came with this collectible cup hee =)

"Anyone can cook!" A show that roused applause fr the audience last night. A simple plot which had a deep educational meaning to it. Excerpts which I found meaningful =)

The show features "the little chef" which had to not only fight against "social norm" but also his dad's expectations and perceptions. Initially when he got lost from his family, he hid himself at the underground sewage. He was depressed and din noe how to face the world out there without his family. Yet with a little encourage " if you hold on to the lost past, u'll nv move on" (think the quote goes sth like dat. haa), he picked himself up to face the BIG world again. And he sees a brand new world!

He believed that "Change is Nature" and believed that he could mk it out there as a chef in the human world. But his dad thot otherwise. He held on to his beliefs.

At the point when he went against his human fren out of a fit of anger, he realised dat he had made a mistake.(Moral of the story: People make silly mistakes when they are angry..but it might end up hurting people who believed in u. )

The heir to Gusteau, Linguine (what a name!) had his frens walking out of him. But the "little chef" stood by him.. and even got his rats to come support. In the end, we see a kitchen of rats working together to whip up dishes for the humans. haa I tink if this scene really appears in the real world..we would haf all freaked out!

The story had a rather happy ending thou the original restaurant was closed due to environment issues ( haa the health check inspector caught the kitchen scene..so funny!) Both Linguine and the little chef achieved their goals, juz that the context of it changed a lil. But then again, change is nature and it is for the better =)
