Wanted to make the best out of the one week recess. And I've always wanted to visit Chek Jawa. So taa-daa..a great opportunity! =)

Prior to setting off in the bumboat to Ubin, I had a nice dumpling noodles @ Changi Village! It's q famous (those kind with a lot of posters on the stall) haa.

The weather was great. Not sunny..and cooling! yeah!

Greeted by rows of bicycle rental shops at the entrance of Ubin. But looking dat the weather is good, my fren and I decided to tk a walk to Chek Jawa instead.

Along the way we saw this huge spider..heh..

Reached the start of the Coastal Boardwalk

The coastal forests at a glance. =)

My nice hair colour *snapshot*

More coastal forest!

Thanks to the low tide, we were able to see some wildlife- can see the lil crabs? One of their pincers is bigger den the other. =)

The mangrove

We climbed up to the Seletak Tower (I think it's spelled dis way). The highest point in Chek Jawa. My legs were a lil wobbly thou haa. The view is nice.

The coastal view near the visitor center

Our self tour ended at ard 2plus. After which we took an expensive Mercs van back to the jetty- $5 each, when we thot it was $2 per person =(

Den we ate zi ca..thou the food was really nice, i was q turned off by the amount of pork lard which was in the food. =(

Besides the little frills, I still enjoyed the trip to Check Jawa, or rather Ubin =) Havent gone there ever since my NP days in Sec sch. It was refreshing to get out of SG once in a while and be in touch with nature. And thanks to the cooling weather, it made the trip even more enjoyable. The next time I return (hopefully not too long later), I hope to be able to see more "wildlife" stuffs.
