Travelled all the way to Jurong Lake with dad dis morning to help out with his coaching session. He's currently coaching a grp of secondary school students. While the grp is made up of a few upp sec students, majority of them are in lower sec. They are of varied physique, which is a common sight in the lower sec students. It was q "xin ku" for some of them to use the australian paddle due to the weight and length of the paddle. Moreover some of them were considered q "small sized". Nontheless, I feel that they do push themselves to do better each time round =)

At the debrief, dad tried to give comments to each and every one of them, trying to encourage the young ones to work harder. =)

One of the students spotted my dad's "different slippers" and commented on it during the debrief. But dad was quick to bring him away from the topic and save his embarassment. haa

**Jurong Lake Water Venture is opened from 930am-6pm from Tue - Sun. I've only seen 2 small boats available. Equipment wise, they have the PFDs and Australian paddles.

I've juz signed up for electronic billing of my hp bills @ www.singtel.com/mybill

Certainly, I prefer to have wireless access to my personal bills and payments since it's more convenient. Plus I get to enjoy the ease of documentation and storage. It's easy to misplace the many letters or papers we have if they're nt being filed properly. Otherwise, I'll dumped the papers away once they stacked up.

If we can have a centralized point to access and compile all our bills and accounts, it'll be much more convenient for most ppl =)

Day One @ the eXpo

ta-da! Adidas sale. at 11am, there was already a queue forming outside hall 6b. When we went in, at the first round, I clouldnt get much stuffs. After much "scrutnization", I had a couple of good buys!

yeah a really nice adidas original jacket! red on beige base. =) went back later after lunch and grab dis good offer.

A red drifit top!

Bought a similar top for my boy =) Read the prints of the back of the top.

At the adidas sale, I bought 2 pairs of socks, 6 tops ( 3 for myself, 2 for my boy and 1 golf top for my dad!), one adidas original jacket (@ $49! woohoo )I bought more stuffs from the robinsons sale. ehh mainly the "nei zai mei" haa. But they're going at really affordable prices. so ..juz whacked haa

Altogether I spent bout $200 plus at the sales (overspent!). But i thot the buys were really worth it, so no regrets =)

Day 2 at expo.

Thinking of grabbing any last minute grabs at the adidas sale, some of my team mates and myself went back to the expo again. But as what many who went on sat have said, there werent much stuffs left. So we ended up at the food fair and Popular Fair. The food fair was terrible. the smell of food was strong! and we were squeezing with aunties and uncles!

The Popular fair was pretty fruitful i muz say. I bought the sheet protectors, paper dividers, magnets and a black clip board. heh..all for $11.30

Datz all for the month of May. Till June salary come again...=)

It's hols! So what have I been doing when Im home...besides the TV, surfing the net, it's online games on facebook..

within the grid are "hidden" words. So the objective of the game is to find as many of these words as possible. Sometimes the words are really of weird spelling like "ter" , "sen" etc. *shrugs shoulders* but who cares, haa as long as I get the points. And the points we get is determined by the number of letters of the words that we found.

It's q a "sticky" game. hooked on it for the time being =)

Again, some thing which I picked up from the papers , LIFE today.

The National Heritage Board has organized a Vietnam Festival, starting from late May. There's gonna be an art exhibition, showcasing the art works after 1990s from Vietnam. 1990s is the point of Vietnam's reconstruction after the war. A picture speaks a thousand words. Datz why I thot it'll be an interesting art exhibition, where artist showcase the lives of the vietnamese ppl from their paintings.

I've been to Ho Chi Minh last Dec. And found the local ppl very "arty". Paintings, murals, cards..etc, were all hand made by their locals. It's their way of life..or rather their livelihood, to paint or to handmade certain items for sale. We've also visited an 'art center' located on the outskirts of ho chi minh city, where the locals who are physically impaired worked as painters. Every piece of artwork was done with much precision and effort.

Another part of the exhibition will be held at the Ancient Civilization Museum from 21 May onwards, themed 'From Myth to Modernity'. This part showcases artefacts of the country's heritage and history. While I was in Vietnam, the places of interests which we visited were related to the war (the significant event of Vietnam's Modern History) , instead of the cultural heritage of the place. Maybe it'll be a good opportunity den to tk a look at the exhibition to find out more about Vietnam before the war took place =)

I was checking out for Min su to stay in Hua Lien. Cos I've plans to go there during the dec hols. And guess what I found! One whole site on Min Su's available in Hua Lien.

They look damn cosy ..! And great place to juz stay and enjoy the sea breeze ( some of them are located near the coastal area), away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Check out this site: http://hotel.webwave.com.tw/item_list.php

The prices of the accomodation are comparable to those in Taipei.
Most likely the plan is to stay 5 nights on the outskirts of Taipei + 3-4 nights in Taipei. (15 dec- 23dec)?

Alright have to start saving!!

I was reading today's Urban from The Straits Times (15 May 2008)and there's this section on fitness routine.

So today's fitness routine is on 'First Eigth Kit', requiring individuals to do 8*8 routine exercises at a fast tempo. It is similar to doing super sets but instead of doing 2 exercises of each muscle group consecutively, we will be need to attempt 4 exercises for each muscle group.

So as quoted from the papers, ideally we will need to decide on 2 major muscle groups that the individual wanna work on for the day. ( For instance, chest and biceps..arghh but i dun like to work on these muscles ) Then we will select 4 exercises per group of muscles. And perform 8 sets of 8 reps of each exercise. So yeah..that is 32 sets per muscle per group.

But if it is too intense, we can add one more muscle group and do 3 exercises for each muscle group. That will make it 24 sets per muscle group.

To keep the cardio burning, restrict the rest time between sets to 15-30 secs. That should see us wrapping up the workout in 45 minutes.

Suggested muscle group sequence:-
Chest & biceps
shoulders and triceps
Back & Abs
Quads and Hamstrings

I'll probably find some time to do this routine. But maybe juz the back and abs part. heh. Slowly lah huh.. =)
